The Community House presents The Family and Friends Sweetheart Ball! Children ages 3 to 12 are invited to dance the night away with their favorite grown-up. Formerly the Father Daughter Dance and the Mother Son Knight Out, The Sweetheart Ball combines the two to make one, inclusive and festive event. Drop into the Teen Room at the Sawyer Free Library for a Valentine’s Day card-making activity inspired by the Folly Cove Designers. Members of the Cape Ann Museum’s CAM Teen Council will be there to guide you in this hands‑on activity, where you can learn about the Designers’ beautiful artwork inspired by life on Cape Ann and try your own block‑printing using foam shapes and a pencil. Create unique, handmade cards just in time for Valentine’s Day!

Join PEM as they celebrate the Lunar New Year | The Year of the Horse! Come welcome the Year of the Horse with a vibrant festival heralding new beginnings and the coming of spring! Enjoy a scavenger hunt, art making and guided tours of Yin Yu Tang. Lunar New Year is celebrated in many Asian countries, including China, Vietnam, Korea, Singapore and Malaysia. While some traditions are shared across countries, others are unique to one region, community or national cultural identity. Our programming this year focuses on Chinese cultural traditions.

The Boston Bruins will be hosting their 19th annual PJ Drive with the goal of collecting 10,000 pairs of pajamas from February 1st - March 15th, 2026. The drive will benefit Cradles to Crayons and Wonderfund MA, two non-profits that ensure positive living conditions for children. Local businesses and organizations can register to host their own drive and fans are encouraged to help by purchasing a donation from Cradles to Crayons' Amazon Wishlist.
Boston Bruins Mascot Blades is coming to The Sawyer Free Library, Gloucester to get the community involved in the Boston Bruins Annual Pajama Drive to benefit DCF Kids and Cradles to Crayons. The PJ Drive’s goal is to collect 10,000 pairs of new pajamas for children and teens in need.
Come on your own, with friends, or bring the whole family to the museum for a special week of programming. The museum has a number of activities planned for the week of February 14-22, including extended Maker Hub and Learning Lab hours, tours, gallery cart demos and family workshops. With the exception of family workshops, all activities are free with museum admission. Take a look at the full schedule below, then plan your visit.
Enjoy a FREE guided activity (ages 4+) in the gallery. Learn about Cape Ann’s Granite Industry, try a fun art making activity, and join in gallery tour designed for kids and their caregivers, led by a CAM Educator. Afterwards grab a scavenger hunt to explore the property and enjoy the lawn.
