Kids today are the innovators of tomorrow! Experiment, build and explore at this STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) program that will spark interest and engage creativity. Each session we'll explore a different STEAM concept. This program is limited to children ages 6-12 ONLY. Please register for each session you wish to attend.
Join in on Sundays at 2:30 for STEAM Club for ages 5-11. Each week participants will explore science and arts through hands-on projects and experiments. This program is free with admission to the play session. You can purchase tickets and sign up for the STEAM club online or in person while supplies last. Tickets
Come play with a variety of building toys, including magnetic tiles and straws and connectors. Kids of all ages and abilities are welcome, but please take note that some of these building toys have small pieces. Drop in any time between 3:00 and 4:30 p.m. to participate.
Essex Public Library hosts a "Buildwave" STEM workshop for kids in grades K-7! Buildwave is a creative building program that feels like a video game! Over the course of this workshop, students create with over a dozen different building materials including "Lego" "PlusPlus" and custom-made Buildwave materials. The workshop is structured like a video game, with an audiovisual setup featuring animations and music that guide students through the different building waves.
The Young Gloucester Scientist's Club meets frequently in and around Cape Ann to explore scientific subjects through experiential learning when possible. Hosted by the Sawyer Free Library the club is designed to nurture interest in science in a group setting. Late August's session is a day outing to the Burnham Field Community Garden.
STEAM story time for children ages 6-10 incorporates science concepts with stories and activities. This month, join us to dig into what fossils are and how they are found! We will use tools like shovels, paint brushes, and tweezers to excavate our own dig sites. Be ready for a dino-mite story time!
Join us at Heron Pond Farm for some food science! We'll be right at the spot where the food grows so learn through a book about sciencist and then experiment yourself to learn something new! This program will end with exploration of the Children's Garden. This is aimed for K - 4th graders. No registration is required.
Join Amesbury Public Library for an interactive storytime outdoors with stories, songs, actions, and fun! We'll end with stations around for kids and adults to explore. Storytimes are great ways to build literacy skills and create learning experiences as well as a great social event. Younger siblings are welcome, but please bring children who are in our age range for this program.
Come on your own, with friends, or bring the whole family to the museum for a special week of programming. The museum has a number of activities and pop-up surprises planned for the week of April 17-23.
