The Essex Bay Sailing Club is a Non-profit club founded in 2000 reaches out to teach sailing to youngsters in the area surrounding Essex Bay. The goal of the club is to develop sailors who enjoy a strong knowlege of sailing while also learning to appreciate, and protect the beautiful resources of the Essex River.
Join The Trustees of Reservations at Crane Wildlife Refuge on the Crane Estate in search of the Snowy Owl! Wide-open coastal sites are the location of choice for wintering Snowy Owls; common perches are dunes and salt hay staddles. In winters past, the owls have been frequent visitors to the Crane Wildlife Refuge. Join us as we hike the dunes in search of these magnificent birds. Unlike most owls, snowy owls are diurnal (they hunt and are active both day and night) so we have a good chance of sighting one even in the daylight hours!

Come celebrate at the Museum of Science and enjoy nano-related activities throughout the Exhibit Halls, including the special events listed below.
Just in time for February school vacation week, for ages 10 and older! There is nothing quite like the satisfaction of making fresh pasta with your own hands. In this hands-on class with Chef Sawsan, kids will learn the art of making three pastas, completely from scratch. For Ages 10 and older.
Calling all boys and girls in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th grade who love to write! This is your chance to get creative and improve your writing skills with fun activities, including Mad Libs, funny writing prompts, group stories, writing games, and more. This class will be taught by two honors students at Marblehead High School. It will take place on Wednesdays in January, beginning on the 9th, from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

For three years, Andrew Paxton has slaved as the assistant to Margaret Tate, hard-driving editor at a New York publisher. When Margaret, a Canadian, faces deportation for an expired visa, she hatches a scheme to marry Andrew. Andrew had plans to fly home for the weekend for his grandma's 90th, so Margaret goes with him - to Sitka, Alaska. Play Minecraft with other children grades 1-5 (ages 6 and up) Learn new tricks from each other and explore and build in a world together. This group is for children in grades 1 and up. Due to our child safety policy, at least one parent per session will need to volunteer to stay in the room the entire time of the program, from 3:30-4:30. Celebrate the Year of the Pig in the Teen Room! Participants will cook some traditional steamed buns and make paper lanterns. For grades 7-12.
Musicians Mike and Beverly Rogers will be at the Manchester Public Library on Saturday, January 26th, 11 AM with a Harmonica Workshop for adults and children ages 8 and older. Everyone attending will not only hear the harmonica stylings of this musical duo, but will receive a harmonica lesson at the workshop to get you started with your very own harmonica to take home!
