Mini Golf Tournament Families FORE the Wenham Museum

Play some mini golf and help Wenham Museum raise funds for their programs!

Bring the whole family to a multi-generational mini-golf tournament! Dads and moms, aunts and uncles, grandparents and kids are invited to participate in this fun-filled day. Proceeds benefit the Wenham Museum's educational exhibits and programs, serving families and children on Boston's North Shore since 1922.

Painting Demo at Emma Andrews Library

Come to a painting demo by Artist Anne Rachia as part of Trails & Sails 2013!

Come to the Emma Andrews Library and Community Center to enjoy a painting demonstration by local artist Anne Recchia.  A member of the Newburyport Art Association, Anne has worked for many years in watercolor and has recently started working in oils. Known for painting evocative scenes of the New England coast, her work is in many private and public collections. Join her during Clothing Drive to Benefit Wellspring for a painting demonstration, hopefully outdoors, of the facade of the Emma Andrews Library.

Piping Plover 5K Race

Run for fun and help raise funds for the Trustees' Shorebird Monitoring Program!

The The Trustees of Reservations, in partnership with New England Barefoot Runners, invite the public to participate in their first annual Piping Plover 5K run at Castle Hill on the Crane Estate in Ipswich! Runners of all ages are welcome, barefoot optional, to race along the shoreline at low tide. All proceeds support The Trustees of Reservations and the shorebird monitoring program at Crane Beach. Come run for fun and help the shorebirds of the North Shore!

Get a jump start on your weekend with the Second Friday Program at the MIT Museum! Second Friday Programs are oriented for open exploration with opportunities to attend performances, demonstrations, and lectures through out the museum galleries. September's 2013's Second Friday will focus on the "Mending Boston" memorial collage quilt - a collaborative project that is intended to encourage communication about the Boston Marathon Bombings and to open channels of healing.

Quarry Tour - Sunday

Kids will enjoy this tour of the Halibut Point State Park and Quarry Rokcport MA

Enjoy a guided tour of Halibut Point State Park around the Babson Farm Quarry, unearthing the granite industry era followed by a traditional hand-tool stone splitting demonstration. Halibut Point itself is made of sheets of 440 million year-old granite that now cascade from rocky headlands to the abundant tidal pools below. The panorama encompasses views from Crane Beach in Ipswich to Mount Agamenticus in Maine and the Isles of Shoals off the coast of New Hampshire. This glorious natural landscape is breathtaking and inspiring.

Salty Dog Day at Essex Shipbuilding Museum is all about pets, kids and families!

Come on down to the Essex Shipbuilding Museum for Salty Dog Day - a fun celebration of the long history of dogs in the maritime trades! This family event is a wonderful opportunity to wander around the Museum and have fun with your family and pets! Salty Dog Day features water rescue demonstrations, an agility course, a costume parade, vendors, hot dogs and more!

Boat Camp Nature School will be at the Emma Andrews Library!

Emma Andrews Library and Community Center welcomes Kate Yeomans and her crew from the Merrohawke Nature School, for a fun hands-on live animal demonstration! Kids will learn about different sea creatures and their habitats, and have a chance to handle them to solidify their learning experience! Come at 12 noon with a picnic, make a craft project and at learn from the Boat Camp Crew starting at 1pm!
