Friends of the Peabody Institute Library - Danvers will be hosting their annual Holiday Open House from 2pm to 4pm on the ground floor of the library. Live music with the band Classic Groove, crafts for all ages, door prizes and refreshments galore! All ages are invited to drop by and enjoy some holiday cheer.
Firehouse Center for the Arts hosts Joppa Dance Company for their performance of Winter Wonder Neverland! This dance-theater production follows Peter Pan, Wendy, Tinker Bell and friends as they try to rescue Christmas back from Captain Hook. It’s full of Pirates, Lost Boys and Fairies.
Chorus North Shore conducted by Abigail Frost presents A Vibrant Christmas with Presto! Festival Orchestra featuring Daniel Pinkham's Christmas Cantata and John Rutter's Gloria, as well as number of Holiday Carols. Founded in 1932, Chorus North Shore is a 100 voice powerhouse of music singing choral masterworks.
To encourage outdoor play and familiarity with the natural world, a nature-based toddler play group will be held at Appleton Farms every Wednesday. Come to one or all of the sessions, explore the fields and forest, and imagine hidden worlds beneath our feet and above our heads. Children and their caregivers will peek under rocks, inspect tree bark for hiding bugs, jump in puddles, and have fun together in the fields, forests, and ponds. Recommended for ages 2-5; babies in backpacks are welcome.
The Manchester Public Library invites kids to Enter the World of the Wise Fool, and take an inspiring journey to Medieval times and an uproarious performance. To allow for ample space, we will be at the Chapel next door (First Parish) but return to the library for hot cider and cookies following. Bring the kids to First Parish Church for a fun puppet show featuring Lindsay & Her Puppet Pals! Lindsey & Her Puppet Pals is a funny, fast-paced interactive show to delight the young and the young at heart! Following the show, visit the Manchester Library for treats.
Join Pastry Chef Sam Burns to construct and decorate festive gingerbread houses to celebrate the winter season. Construction material will include house-made gingerbread, frostings, and fondant. An array of nostalgic candies will provide the finishing details to our construction project. Suitable for ages 6+, the only requirements are imagination, patience and persistence with a piping bag. Homemade cocoa and sweets will be provided to fuel our project, and constructed gingerbread homes will be packed for safe transport home.
