Have you ever wished you could draw like a real artist? Or did you ever wonder how artists make images of birds, animals, flowers, and imaginary creatures to look and feel so real? If so, then this is the class for you! We'll use collage and various materials to make seasonal representations of nature's beauty. Our art teacher inspires students to create "wow" works of art and helps them discover, in surprising and wonderful ways, all the things they don't know that they actually do know and can do.  This week we will study and make mandalas.

Teens in grades 7-12: Need something to do after your half day of school? Celebrate your freedom to read and watch whatever you want at Scandalous Cinema, our Banned Books Week Film Screening for Teens. We will be showing a classic movie about a boy wizard with a lightning scar (can you guess which one?!). This event will take place in the Program Room from 12:00-3:30 pm. Pizza will be provided!

In every kind of weather, our favorite thing is to head outdoors to our spectacular local habitats! Join Joppa Flats Education Center on a nature exploration that will focus on the importance of a sense of place as we explore the ecology, sights, and sounds of our natural landscape. Wildlife, local and migrating birds, collecting techniques, and environmental awareness will be presented in a fun, energetic format that adults and children alike will enjoy. This session will focus on the pond habitat, and it's importance in the ecosystem.
