This popular event begins with a workshop where participants construct model boats from kits that are provided at the Lee Mansion Gardens, and ends with a competetive regatta at Redd's Pond. BRING THE KIDS - BRING YOUR FOLKS - BUILD & SAIL YOUR VERY OWN BOAT! These small treasures are more than just toys, they really sail. This is a fun, educational activity the whole family will enjoy.

Come Down to the 36th Annual Antique & Classic Boat Festival in Salem. See a wonderful variety of rare vintage motor yachts and sailboats. Meet skippers and crews and vote your favorite boats. Children get to make their own wee boat, and all can board real ones. There will be boat rides, crafts market, artists, old-time band music, steel drums, the Blessing of the Fleet and more! $5 donation and children under 12 are free.

The Coast Guard Barque EAGLE is making a port call in Salem, MA this August - arriving August 9 and staying through August 11!  The ship was built in 1936 in Germany, and commissioned as Horst Wessel, one of three sail training ships operated by the pre-World War II German navy. At the close of World War II, Horst Wessel was taken as a war reparation by the United States, recommissioned as the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle and sailed to New London, Connecticut. Eagle provides an unparalleled at-sea leadership and professional development experience for future officers of the U.S. Coast Guard.
