Bradley Palmer State Park is located at 40 Asbury St. in Topsfield. All programs are free and open to the public. Reasonable accommodations upon request. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Events outside may include rough, uneven trails that contain ice and snow, warm clothing and sturdy footwear are recommended. Inclement weather cancels events.
The Amesbury Public Library invites kids to come read to a dog at the Library! Gus, a mixed lab and certified reading partner dog, would love to hear you read aloud! This is a great way to practice some early reading skills or give some confidence to reluctant readers. If you have a child who is reading themselves or working on their reading skills, sign up for a 15 minute slot! Gus will be back in the Library every two weeks so you can register for more than one session if you'd like or just for one!
Children can register to come and read to a certified therapy dog. This program encourages reading confidence and is a fun way for kids to practice literacy. Sessions last for 15-minutes, and we ask that you please arrive for the time slot that you register for. Sessions are individual, but siblings are welcome to come and read together.
Welcome in the New Year with Keeva, a certified Therapy Dog, and her trainer Pat Fleming! Hear about her important therapy work, and then enjoy treats, crafts, and games. Designed for children ages 3 years and up. No registration needed.

Join IPL children’s librarians for a fun-filled morning to get you in the holiday spirit with a visit from the Snow Sisters along with crafts and refreshments!
How do your favorite animals spend the winter? Join us as we learn how animals survive the coldest months of New England. We will learn about hibernation, migration, and the amazing adaptations animals have for surviving our harshest temperatures. Bring a stuffed animal and create a cozy little hibernation den to take home! Please register for this event.
Ipswich Public Library invites kids and families to kick off the Summer Reading program with the Plum Island Pans - a local steel drum band! The band originates from Zach Field Drums & Music in Newburyport. The 4-piece band consists of a lead steel drum, double second steel drums, 6 can bass and a drum set. Plum Island Pans has even performed at Fenway Park for The Boston Red Sox. For all ages! The program is free and no registration is required.

Ages 4 - 11. Kids, read to Bentley, our therapy dog friend from B.O.N.E.S.! Bring some books with you or select them from the Children's Room to read to our friendly dog buddy. You'll have 15 minutes to read to our canine companion, who will happily enjoy your stories. This helps to build reading fluency and confidence! Great for reluctant readers! One child per time slot, please.
