Big Ryan's Tall Tales

Come to Big Ryan's Tall Tales at the Newbury Town Library!

Newbury Town Library invites kids for a special performance - BIG RYAN'S TALL TALES!  Big Ryan delivers his own original stories, a bit of puppet play and some music and movement, and a whole lot of fun! This show is great for PreK-5th grade, but siblings of other ages are of course welcome. Big Ryan has been a hit at libraries all over the map, and we're so excited to be able to bring him to the Newbury Town Library for you to see. Please sign up on our online calendar to let us know you're coming.

The Magic Typewriter at Abbot Library

Kids will meet Paul Korins, authro of 'The Magic Typewriter' at Abbot Library in Marblehead.

Children ages 8-12 are invited to an afterschool program with children's author Paul Korins focused on his most recent book, [amazon:1519110200:inline]. The novel is a time-travel, historical story, during which a 12-year-old boy is transported to the 1930s, experiencing the hard times of the Great Depression. He will be talking with students at the program about the hardships endured by families, and what life was like for children back then.

Creature Feature: Peeper Creatures

The Trustees of Reservations invite you to bring the whole family to Ravenswood Park for an introduction to Vernal Pools featuring live animals and a presentation by the Cape Ann Vernal Pond Team. Meet salamanders and frogs that live on the North Shore and get a rare close-up view of these animals.  Learn their natural history and behaviors then journey with a guide into the park for a night-time walk.

The Newbury Town Library invites teens to their Friday Flicks Series! We're showing movies in the Community Room  after school on the 3rd Friday of each month at 2:45pm, just for teens. HW First Aid Training Course

Learn First Aid basics at the Hamilton Wenham Community House from a registered nurse!!

In this course, kids ages 11 and up will learn the basics of first aid and learn what to do if they are presented with a person who is injured, in shock, bleeding or burned. This course goes beyond just calling 911, and the information your child learns could make a critical difference if they are presented with an emergency in their daily lives! Knowledge of first aid basics is an important life skill that builds confidence as they face new and different situations as they grow. Course fee includes certification (valid for 2 years).
