Earth Port Film Festival 2014

The EarthPort Film Festival raises awareness of our rapidly changing climate.

The Firehouse Center for the Arts invites you to the 2014 Earth Port Festival - a collection of environmental short filmsfocusing on short films that create, discover, inspire, catalyze or document environmental action.

The intent of the festival is to demonstrate the power of film in communicating about important issues and is designed to include US and foreign, as well as student films.

Now in it’s 3rd year, the Earth Port Film Festival is well on it’s way to becoming an annual tradition! Films to be screened will be announced on Earth Day, April 22.

Proceeds from the Earth Port Film Festival will be used to support the training and development of Newburyport youth and adults in the art of communicating via film and video.

Touch a Truck and Chowderfest Gloucester

Kids (and adults) can get up close and personal with all kinds of trucks

Is your toddler a Tonka fan? Your fourth grader fond of fire trucks? Bring them to Gloucester’s Touch a Truck event to benefit the Fishtown Horribles Parade and watch their faces light up as they clamber into their toys come to life! New in 2014, the Touch a Truck event will also play host to a chowderfest! Come samplke some local interpretations of this New England classic and vote to see who has the best chowder around! All proceeds will go to fund the Fishtown Horribles Parade in July!

Mother's get FREE admission on Mother's Day at the Children's Museum of NH

In honor of Mother’s Day, the Children's Museum of New Hampshire is offering free admission for all mothers and grandmothers on Sunday, May 11 from 12-5 pm. There will also be a special creative activity for children who visit on Mother’s Day. In the Museum’s Muse Studio, kids can make a gift to give to the special woman in their lives. This activity is included with paid admission ($9 each for children and adults) and free for Children’s Museum members.

Wenham Museum is hosting a rare opportunity to have a hand-cut heirloom portrait created by silhouette artist Carol Lebeaux from a sitting or photograph.

Audubon Ark Live Animals - Owls & Hawks

Mass Audubon has a live animal presntation at the Manchester Public Library!

The Manchester Public Library hosts Mass Audubon naturalists for an Audubon Ark demonstration focused on birds of prey like owls and hawks! There are two sessions, with one filled already, so sign up today before the spaces fill up! This program is designed by Drumlin Farm’s Audubon Ark and is especially geared for ages 3-5 so it is deliberately kept small in size and is a half hour program.

Hercules and The Heroes at MPL

The Hampstead Players will perform “Hercules and The Heroes" at MPL

The Manchester Public Library invites kids to to a live performance about one of history's greatest heroes - Hercules! The Hampstead Players hosted by the Manchester Public Library, will perform “Hercules and The Heroes,” a play for all fans of Greek Mythology. These exciting myths are best for grades K-8th and fits core curriculum standards for Greek mythology. The event will be at the Manchester Community Center to accommodate the set and seating but you do need to register so we can prepared the space accurately. This wonderful experience of live theater is sponsored by the Hooper Fund to Youth Services of the Manchester Public Library.
