Daisy Nell and Captain Stan visit the TOHP Burnham Public Library in Essex for an open house! Enjoy songs from Daisy's popular children's books Rocky at the Dockside, The Stowaway Mouse and Tilly and the Pirates. There will also be tours, snacks, door prizes and crafts!
Kids ages 3-10 are invited to Jungle Jim's Ghostbuster Academy at ipswich Public Library! Wear costumes to this Halloween program held in the gym at Ipswich Town Hall. The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Ipswich Public Library. It is free of charge and no registration is required. Jim Manning (previously offered Super Hero Training) will train young ghost hunters in the rigors of being an official ghostbusters - silly, not scary!
Star Wars and Interplanetary Crafts for kids and teens at Ipswich Public Library. Drop-In between 2:30 and 4:30 and choose between a variety of crafts. Children ages 8 and older may attend independently. Younger children should be accompanied by a caregiver.
Family Adventures in Reading brings together children and adults to enjoy entertaining and thought-provoking presentations of outstanding picture books. Professional Storyteller Alicia Quintano will lead families as they share and reflect on their responses to the stories that explore character-building concepts such as courage, fairness, and persistence. Each 90-minute session includes an engaging, interactive presentation and a related craft program. The session concludes with an introduction to a library service and socializing over light refreshments. The books draw on a variety of cultural traditions including those that predominate in the neighborhoods where the program is offered.
All ages are welcome to join Miss Shannon for an evening of stories, songs, dances and more! Miss Shannon will be wearing her pajamas. You can wear yours, too! This is a drop-in program. No registration required.
Maudslay State Park invites you for a close-up view of a live owl and her babies in the nest, through a
spotting scope. Plus visit the park interpreter’s table to learn more about this raptor and see
skulls, feathers and owl pellets. Bring binoculars for better viewing of the nest. All ages are
welcome! Follow the signs from the parking lot to the field site.
Bring your young naturalist to the Ravenswood Park in Gloucester and learn all about bugs! Bugs, bugs, everywhere there are bugs! We'll investigate some and venture outdoors on a bug-bingo hunt!
Bring your young naturalist to the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary to enjoy an afternoon on the Ipswich River! As the summer starts to heat up, cool down with us on a leisurely canoe paddle to Perkins Island. We'll look for sunbathing turtles and other river creatures on the banks and in the backwaters of the beautiful Ipswich River. Once we get to the island, we'll stretch our legs and enjoy some popsicles.
Enjoy a hayride as you journey thru the park and along the river, to appreciate the rosebay rhododendrons as they exhibit their beauty. All programs sponsored by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. Meet in the field across from the parking lot. For all ages. An adult must accompany children 12 & under.
