Astronomy After Hours at the MOS Observatory

Tucked away on the roof of the Museum's parking garage, the Gilliland Observatory is a wonderful resource for our starry-eyed public. On clear nights, you can view stars, planets, the Moon, and other astronomical phenomena. On cloudy nights, tour the inside of the Observatory, and participate in astronomy-related activities run by our knowledgeable staff. Astronomy After Hours is the perfect place to kick off your weekend with your family.

Young at Art at CAM

Young at art is a program for toddlers at the Cape ann museum in Gloucester Massachusetts

Bring your toddler to Cape Ann Museum on the second Thursday of each month from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for Young at Art, a gallery-based storytime! Recommended for children ages 4 and younger with an adult. This drop-in program is free for members or with Museum admission. To register please email sarahflanagan@capeannmuseum.org or call (978)283-0455 x16.

Plum Island Jet Rally

The Plum Island RC Jet Rally is hosted by Plum Island Airport RC Club in Newburyport Massachusetts!

Plum Island Airport RC Club's Jet Rally is a 5 day event of RC fun! Come for 5 full days of non stop RC Jet action at the Plum Island Airport. There will be pilots from all over the East Coast and Canada showing off their impressive aircraft and piloting skills.

BCM Star Wars Weekend

Star Wars Day Weekend at Boston Children's Museum - May the 4th be with you!

Visit a galaxy not so far away to celebrate the art, science, and design of Star Wars! All weekend long dress up as your favorite Star Wars character, test your Jedi skills on the training course, build an X-wing or the Death Star with KEVA blocks, and meet some of your favorite characters. Make a lightsaber, explore robotics, design a costume, and maybe even meet R2D2! Check the daily calendar with specific times and additional activities. Costumes encouraged! But please, leave your blasters at home. Your saga begins at Boston Children’s Museum!

Celebrate Earth Day at Peabody Essex Museum with Backyard Growers and Salem Massachusetts

Peabody Essex Museum celebrates Earth Day in Salem Massachusetts. Join in a variety of hands-on activities in Wes Sam-Bruce’s Mobile Art Studio. Consider what freedom means to you and your relationship with nature through writing prompts inspired by the Jewish Arts Collaborative and National Poetry Month. Meet members from the Backyard Growers Program, a nonprofit organization that has built more than 200 raised bed gardens, serving hundreds of Gloucester residents, and learn about the food system, the garden ecosystem and the science behind growing food.

Earth Day is celebrated in a big way at the Children’s Museum of NH, with a focus on learning how to support a healthy planet. Peabody Celebrates wool and the things we make from it in a weekend festival!

Peabody Essex Museum celebrates the world of wool and the products that are created from this raw material in a weekend-long festival! There have been many uses for wool throughout history and across cultures dating back as far as 6000 B.C.E. Wool is made from the hair or fleece of certain animals such as sheep, goats, llamas - and even rabbits!
