Visiting Castle Hill at Christmas is a time-honored tradition for many New England families. Don't miss this year's spectacular "Christmas by the Sea". Each room in our 1920s mansion is festively decorated by florists, designers, garden clubs, or volunteers. You'll find live music and dance, fresh baked cookies and cider, a treasure hunt, family activities, and a visit with Santa.
Join Appleton Farms for the Down on the Farm Fall Concert Series at Appleton Farms! These family-friendly concerts will feature live music, food trucks, lawn games, and an opportunity to meet our dairy cows and farm animals. series continues with a performance by Rust Never Sleeps. Bring your own picnic or purchase food from Joe's on a Roll and CopperDome Pizza. Beer and wine will also be available for purchase from Ipswich Ale and Old Planters Brewing.
Come join us for a community marketplace for all things Ipswich, sustainable, handmade, and community grown. There will be fresh food, crafts and great music. We will highlight the Autumn/Harvest theme that comes naturally with a late October market as well as tying into Ipswich Illumination, which takes place later that day.

Come for a unique opportunity at the Boston Center for Adult Education to discover some of the world's best chocolate and confections, become a more conscious consumer, and meet farmers and makers. The New England Chocolate Festival brings you together with 16 New England chocolate companies to taste, learn, and interact. The companies invited to participate in the Festival have all been hand-selected for their focus on quality and ethics. They prize craftsmanship and flavor excellence while sourcing ingredients in a transparent manner. Also attending are several cacao and chocolate producers from countries including Brazil, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Mexico, Peru, Thailand, Venezuela, and Vietnam.
2018 update: Due to lack of space to hold the carnival, there will be no carnival this year... Come try your skill at games on the arcade, ride the Ferris wheel and enjoy unique fair-style food in a fun carnival atmosphere of the annual Haunted Happenings Carnival! There's fun for the whole family. Rides are a Fiesta Shows Production! This year's Carnival is located on Derby Street.
There is nothing quite like bread fresh from the oven. Join chef Elizabeth Walkowicz to learn how to make your own exquisite bread from scratch. Using both our outdoor earth oven and traditional methods, you will learn to make flat bread and a rustic olive loaf. We will pair with an Appleton Farms salad and cheese for a perfect summer lunch on the patio. This hands-on workshop includes instruction by a professional chef, printed recipe booklet and a tasting. BYOB beer and wine is allowed.
Come to Flatbread Pizza - Amesbury for great wood-fired, home-made flatbread pizza and help Theater in the Open raise funds for their programs! Theater in the Open is dedicated to developing theater skills in kids and young adults for the benefit of the community. Most of their performances are free of charge and are usually performed on-site at Maudslay State Park in Newburyport by local talent. Come enjoy some pizza and help this great community resource continue its mission of developing local talent and creating social bonds through the performing arts!
