The Newburyport Public Library is hosting a beaded jewelry crafting session.Drop in to do some beading! Make a bracelet, necklace, or other accessory. No registration necessary. This program is open to kids of all ages and abilities, but caregivers should be aware that there will be small pieces in the room.
Put on your winter coat and visit the Cape Ann Museum during February School Vacation Week! The Museum will be free for school-age children, 18 and under, and their guardians from Tuesday, February 20 – Thursday, February 22. On Friday, February 23 the Museum will have free admission for all visitors thanks to generous support from the Highland Street Foundation’s Winter Camp Initiative.
The Trustees of Reservations invites kids and families to Long Hill and Sedgwick Gardens during February Vacation! During school vacation week, warm up with friends and family around a fire pit at Long Hill! Your ticket, valid for 6 people, will give you access to your own personal fire pit for 2 hours. We will provide fire wood, chairs, and a complimentary s’mores kit for your whole group. All the materials needed for a special wintery craft will also be included. You are welcome to bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages.
Enjoy an incredible performance of young jazz musicians (alongside a professional ensemble), led by saxophonist and Cape Ann Jazz Workshop director Alexa Tarantino. This showcase features student musicians from the previous summer workshops highlighting their impressive jazz skills. This concert is part of jazz outreach activities that Alexa hosts each winter, where she brings the excitement of the jazz workshop into classrooms on the North Shore and beyond.
House of Seven Gables celebrates Salem's So Sweet and Valentine's Day with a day of festive events including Ice Sculpture Viewing, a scavenger hunt, Family Valentine Crafts and more! This wonderful, fun family event is co-sponsored by The House of the Seven Gables and the City of Salem’s Park, Recreation and Community Services Department. On Second Saturdays, music students of Alexandra Grace Music Studio will join the Cape Ann Museum for the ‘Cape Ann Youth Musical Showcase’. Every month will have a different theme, and students will perform songs in a fun and creative evening of live music.
Come to Flatbread Pizza - Georgetown for great wood-fired, home-made flatbread pizza and help the Friends of the Amesbury Public Library raise funds for their programs! Everyone loves owls! Yet, how many of us have ever seen a live owl up close? With Eyes On Owls, Naturalist Marcia Wilson and photographer Mark Wilson will introduce you to six different live owls from New England and far beyond. Some owls, like the Great Horned, Barred and Eastern Screech Owls are fairly common in our area. Others, like Snowy Owls, Great Grays, and Boreal Owls, are rather rare.
