Amesbury

The Amesbury Public Library invites kids to come read to a dog at the Library! Gus, a mixed lab and certified reading partner dog, would love to hear you read aloud! This is a great way to practice some early reading skills or give some confidence to reluctant readers. If you have a child who is reading themselves or working on their reading skills, sign up for a 15 minute slot! Gus will be back in the Library every two weeks so you can register for more than one session if you'd like or just for one! 

Join us at the Library to watch the solar eclipse! We will have eclipse glasses to give away at the event and activities for kids, teens, families, and adults to learn about eclipses and why they happen. We will have a nearly total eclipse so you can come at the beginning and stay through or stop by for however long. 

From February 1 through March 15, Cradles to Crayons®, the Boston Bruins, Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, and Wonderfund are coming together with organizations in your community to collect new pajamas for local children living in low-income and homeless situations. This years' goal is to collect 10,000 pairs of pajamas. By supporting us with a PJ Drive, you will directly supply new pajamas to the children who need them most so they can stay warm for a good night’s sleep. Spend your vacation week visiting another world (at Amesbury Public Library)! This program is a self contained quest and so you can come if you've never played D&D or a roleplaying game before  or if you are a huge fan (and meet some other fans)! This session is for kids aged 7-10.
