For 40 years, Bird-a-thon has brought birders, nature-lovers, and families together to celebrate nature and raise funds that provide essential year-round support for Mass Audubon's conservation, nature education, and advocacy work.
One of the most exciting events in Salem is the Anniversary of the Country's First Muster! Watch the reenactment unfold in Salem Common! The AHAC participates in the parade and ceremony commemorating the Anniversary of the country's first muster in 1637 in Salem Massachusetts. Salem is the birthplace of National Guard. Many members of the Ancients have served or are currently serving in the Guard. Participants include Massachusetts National Guard, Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts, Salem Trayned Band, 2nd Corpos Veterans Group, and other historic military companies.

The YWCA Greater Newburyport enters its 140th year serving the community, we invite you to join us once again for our annual Engaging Communities Luncheon on Wednesday, April 26th from 12:00 – 1:30 pm. Learn the basics of animal tracking, plant survival adaptations, and discover the human history of survival in our coastal habitats, with the rich history of The Crane Estate providing a glimpse into the evolving human uses of the land, from the indigenous Pawtucket through early European settlers and into the modern era. A sighting of a resident snowy owl is always a possible bonus!
