Lighting of the Memory Tree

The Lighting of the Memory Tree is a solemn occasion to remember loved ones.

Gather around the tree in front of Essex Town Hall to honor loved ones past and place your memorial ornament. This is always a meaningful and peaceful way to begin the holiday season. Registration forms for your memorial ornament can be found at Brookline Bank and Essex Town Hall and must be returned by November 28th to ensure that your ornament is ready. A Global Tour with Cape Ann Symphony

Grisha Goryachev is renowned for his extraordinary musical sensitivity and technical virtuosity.

Thrill to music from Austria, Spain and Japan. Beethoven’s Fifth is possibly the world’s most well known symphony with its powerful four note opening. Rodrigo’s immediately recognizable and popular Concierto de Aranjuez put Rodrigo on the map as one of the world’s great 20th Century composers. It also helped make the classical guitar the respectable solo instrument it has become.

Koto’s Stormy and Calm Seas a new piece commissioned by the Cape Ann Symphony is a musical depiction of the ocean during a storm and the calm that comes afterwards.

Holiday Sing Along

Come with friends and neighbors to sing holiday songs to start your holiday seas

Gather your family and friends and come over to the Firehouse for a little old-fashioned Holiday Sing-Along to kick off your Holidays with music!  The Youth Choir from the Immaculate Conception Church (Newburyport), directed by Donna Postle, will be there to lead everyone in singing some well-loved carols, with music provided by John Metrano on piano.  Our favorite elf, Terry Blanchard, will once again read “ ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” while wearing his famous stocking cap knit exclusively for this annual presentation by the North Pole’s very talented Mrs. Elf.
