Welcome to Salem Sound Coastwatch’s 15th annual Run for the Beach 5K! Every summer, community members gather at Dane St. Beach in Beverly for a fun, family-friendly race to raise money for Salem Sound Coastwatch.
The Rowley Farmers Market is an open air market held on Sundays on the Rowley Town Common. There's always a great selection of fresh local produce, food stuffs and locally hand-made goods. Come pick up some great locally grown food, freshly baked bread by Faith Anne's Unique bread, specialty teas and herbals by Dawn's Herbal, locally made yarn from Spin a Yarn Farms, locally made maple syrup and honey from local bee keepers.
The Salem Farmers' Market brings fresh local produce and other foods from North Shore farms and other local resources to downtown Salem every Thursday at Bentley Academy Charter School!
As part of COASTSWEEP Beach Cleanup, Salem Sound Coastwatch encourages volunteers to come to Collins Cove Beach to help in the statewide effort to keep the Massachusetts coastline clean. COASTSWEEP is the annual statewide cleanup of Massachusetts coastal and riverine environments. Over more than 20 years, COASTSWEEP has engaged thousands of volunteers in cleaning hundreds of miles of shoreline and riverbanks.
As part of COASTSWEEP, volunteers are encouraged to come to Gloucester to help in the statewide effort to keep our coastline clean along the Gloucester beaches and shoreline. Trash collected will be measured and analyzed, and the data will be sent to Washington DC to aid the government in creating legislation to minimize trash in our oceans! This specific cleanup is coordinated by Michael Mitchell and the Community Church of East Gloucester, and will cover up to 8 beaches in Gloucester.
The Rockport Exchange Farmers Market is held every Saturday June 17th - October 14th at Harvey Park in downtown Rockport, Ma (located on the corner of Broadway & Mount Pleasant St) It runs from 9 am to 1 pm and offers a variety of locally-grown produce, hand crafted products, live music, and more. This market accepts EBT cards on behalf of participating vendor and will match your Snap dollars up to $10 per market.
