Trails and Sails: Historic Grounds Tour

Come to the House of Seven Gables for a Trails & Sails event that focuses on the

House of Seven Gables hosts a Trails & Sails tour that focuses on the gardens and grounds! Join us for our newly developed historic grounds tour – one of a series of specialized tours currently in the works at The House of the Seven Gables. Take a stroll through the lesser-known history of our gardens and grounds. Learn about the original layout of the site through archival images and maps, then delve into Nathaniel Hawthorne’s novel through his depictions of the fictional Pyncheon gardens.

Monarch Migration Celebration

Kids will learn about monarch butterflies at the Stevens-Coolidge Estate in North Andover!

You spent the summer watching them flit about your gardens, now it’s time to wish them well on their trip down to Mexico – it’s the Monarch Migration Celebration at Stevens-Coolidge Place! This celebration will kick off with a children’s pollinator parade around the property (costumes encouraged!) bringing all visitors to an afternoon of demos, crafts & stories, seed bomb making and gardening tips to bring these orange friends to your yard in the spring.

Kids will learn about composting at the Trustees of Reservations' Stevens-Coolidge Estate in North Andover

Spend your early release day building and playing at The Stevens-Coolidge Place. This drop-off program will introduce garden lifecycles, get your hands dirty building a composter to take home and finish outside with games in the gardens.

Solar Powered at The Stevens-Coolidge Place

Solar Powered Art in the Garden at the Stevens Coolidge Place with the Trustees of Reservations!

Join The Trustees and ReVision Energy this spring afternoon to get creative in The Stevens-Coolidge Place gardens. Offering kid-friendly garden experiences in 30 minute intervals, participants will enjoy viewing what spring has sprung with a knowledgeable guide as they meander through the gardens. Each tour will end with participants using the elements of the garden to create solar-powered art. We’ll harness the power of the sun using solar paper and water to create a nature-inspired piece of art. While your new creation dries, take time for a picnic or enjoy a friendly game of giant Jenga or corn hole on the lawn.

Peabody Essex Museum celebrates Earth Day in Salem Massachusetts. Join in a variety of hands-on activities in Wes Sam-Bruce’s Mobile Art Studio. Consider what freedom means to you and your relationship with nature through writing prompts inspired by the Jewish Arts Collaborative and National Poetry Month. Meet members from the Backyard Growers Program, a nonprofit organization that has built more than 200 raised bed gardens, serving hundreds of Gloucester residents, and learn about the food system, the garden ecosystem and the science behind growing food.
