MIT Museum Second Friday January 2014 features MIT+K12 videos

Get a jump start on your weekend with the Second Friday Program at the MIT Museum! The January 2014 Second Friday introduces visitors to MIT's +K12 Video Production Program and the students that continue to make it happen. Learn how MIT students from MIT+K-12 are changing the way that students learn. Students will demo live experiments to show how cool science can actually be - moving away from just memorizing equations and symbols out of a textbook. From color-changing chemical reactions to autonomous flying robots, we'll show you a different side of numbers and equations!

Greening of the Great House: Saturday

The Greening of the Great House is a weekend of festivities at Castle Hill Ipswi

You're invited to celebrate the magic of the holidays as the Great House on Castle Hill is festively decorated by area florists and designers for the 'Greening of the Great House'. PizzaFest and Annual Auction 2013 at Children's Museum of NH

The Pizza Fest and Annual Auction has food and family fun at the NH Children's .

The 2013 PizzaFest features all-you-can-eat pizza from popular area restaurants as well as an extensive Silent Auction, and all proceeds benefit the museum’s innovative education and outreach programs! Pizza aficionados of all ages can cast their votes for best regional pizza restaurants at the Children’s Museum of New Hampshire’s Fifth Annual PizzaFest and Holiday Auction. The event will be held from 5-8 pm at the Children’s Museum of NH in Dover. Attendees will be able to sample different varieties of pizza from local purveyors, then vote for their favorites. All proceeds benefit the museum’s innovative education and outreach programs. Pizza Tasting spots are limited, so make sure you reserve a spot today!

The Family Gingerbread House Workshop at the New Hampshire Children's Museum

Get into the holiday spirit by building and decorating an authentic gingerbread house with your family. Brainstorm with your kids and bring your ideas to be creative together without messing up your own kitchen! The Children's Museum of NH will supply all the materials: a fresh and tasty unassembled gingerbread house, icing and a wide variety of candy and edible decorations – you supply the inspiration! Kick-a-Thon to Benefit the MDA

Proceeds from Gloucester Uechi Karate Kick-a-Thon in Gloucester benefit the MDA

Local students at Gloucester Uechi Karate Academy of Gloucester will participate in a Kick-A-Thon to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association! Students are collecting sponsorships from friends, family and neighbors, and using their healthy muscles to help others whose muscles are not as strong. The fundraising goal is $10,000, with all proceeds going to benefit the MDA – a non-profit organization servicing over 2000 families in Massachusetts, with more than 600 of those families coming from communities on the North Shore and Merrimack Valley.
