Vintage Base Ball Double Header - August 12

Come see how baseball used to be played (circa 1860s) at Spencer Pierce Farm

It’s Base Ball, 1861 style at Spencer Peirce Little Farm! Teams playing today are The Newburyport Clamdiggers, Lynn Live Oaks, and Lowell Base Ball Club. These fun, historically accurate games feature underhand pitching and no gloves are allowed. A ball bounced once and caught is an out! Snacks, baseballs, and cards are available for purchase. Come and see for yourself how this game was played in the 1860's!

The North Shore Jazz Project Presents: The Waterfront Dance Party of the Summer

It is time to get out your dancing shoes. The waterfront party of last summer is back. The North Shore Jazz Project is pleased to present a joint fundraiser with the Maritime Gloucester, on August 4th, 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Gloucester’s beautiful waterfront. There's a free drum workshop at the at the waterfront from 3-4:30.

Family Fun for North Shore Families

Beverly Homecoming was first celebrated in 1966, making 2012 the 47th annual celebration. The week is just around the corner, and the Homecoming Committee is expecting record crowds. Planning for the 2012 week-long event began just as last year's fireworks went off, and more fun is planned.

Beverly Homecoming will take place July 27, 2012 – August 5, 2012. The Lobster Festival, one of Homecoming’s highlights, will take place on Wednesday, August 1st at Lynch Park.

Friends of the Ipswich Library Book Sale: Saturday

Funds from the Ipswich Library Book Sale go to fund programs and materials

Ipswich Museum will host the Friends of the Ipswich Library Book Sale this year during Olde Ipswich Days.  The large selection will include hardcover and paperback books for children and adults, CD's and videos priced at fifty cents and $1. Proceeds will benefit library materials and programs, museum passes, and scholarships.

KNEX Colossal Construction Children's Museum of NH

KNEX Colossal Construction is a limited time engagement at CMNH

The Children's Museum of NH is offering a special limited-time interactive exhibit this summer called Colossal Construction. From July 16 - September 2, families can explore this new maker-space to build and create using thousands of K'nex building pieces and other materials. There will be daily challenges and opportunities to add onto community construction projects like roller coasters or build something completely new. There will also be building activities that use other kinds of materials. All of these activities are included with paid admission ($9 adults/children, $8 seniors) and free for museum members.

The HMS Bounty will come to Newburyport on Friday July 13 and stay through the weekend offering public tours! Tours will run Friday 10am-3pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am-5pm. In addition to tours of the Bounty there will be entertainment at waterfront park for everyone visiting the Bounty and Newburyport.
