Talking a guided walking tour through the Civil War history of Newburyport!

There's a lot of history in Newburyport, and 12th generation Newburyport descendant, author and historian William Hallet has chosen to make the Civil War History of Newburyport his expertise.  Join him and his wife Elizabeth on a walking tour through Newburyport's Civil War history, following the stories of men who were sent fight and the contributions they made!

Tour d'Elegance Public Display

Tour d'Elegance public display is FREE and open to the public

Praised by car aficionados as one of the best shows in New England, the Misselwood Concours d’Elegance is a boutique car show that also serves as a fundraiser for scholarships at Endicott College. The show attracts car owners and crowds from across New England and has become the prime classic car event of the summer. Part of the Concours d'Elegance weekend includes the Tour d'Elegance on Saturday, a tour of the most elegant cars in existence today that winds along the Coastal Scenic Byway from Beverly to Newburyport and back.

The Revolutionary War Was the first of many for Newburyport!

Join living historian Maeve, an Irish immigrant who fled Ireland during the potato famine and settled in America for an afternoon of tales, history and myth! At the 1:00 p.m. performance Maeve will be entertaining the children with stories of life in Ireland and her immigration experience. She will be reading an Immigrants Tale- a storybook- for the younger members of her audience.

It’s Base Ball, 1861 style at Spencer Peirce Little Farm! Watch the teams of the new Essex Base Ball Association play for the Championship! The Newburyport Clamdiggers, Portsmouth Rockinghams, Lynn Live Oaks, and Lowell Base Ball Nine will play baseball using 1860s rules. These fun, historically accurate games feature underhand pitching and no gloves are allowed. A ball bounced once and caught is an out! Snacks, baseballs, and cards are available for purchase.
