The Phillips Academy Orchestra Band Concert

The Phillips Academy Music Department will present a concert featuring the Academy Concert Bands and ensembles under the direction of Vincent Monaco and Peter Cirelli. The program will feature the music of Vaughn Williams, Seldon, Sousa, Dvořák, and others. The concert, which is free of charge and open to the public, will take place in Cochran Chapel located on the Phillips Academy campus, the Phillips Academy campus. Karen K and The Jitterbugs will play at MarketStreet Lynnfield Massachusetts

Bug Out! with Karen K and her imaginary friends, the Jitterbugs: Bumble (the bee who doesn’t like to sting); Stinky (loves playing outside, refuses baths), Hop (working on his self control); and Slug Bug (needs a LOT of naps). 

Named one of the “Must-See Acts of 2015” and called “Power pop sheen that makes them fun for the whole family” by the Boston Globe, the Jitterbugs have quickly become a favorite among kids and kid-ults in Boston and beyond. 

Known for their totally engaging, high-energy show packed with humor and amazingly catchy, well-crafted tunes, Karen K & the Jitterbugs has quickly become one of the most buzzed about kindie bands on the East Coast.

Do you have a musical instrument not being used? Don’t waste it, donate it! The Musary, a one of a kind lending library of musical instruments, provides instruments for anyone in need, and we exist to inspire people everywhere to 'play on'. During North Shore Music Theater's run of the Music Man, The Musary will be taking donations in the North Shore Music Theatre lobby during any performance. Your instruments will be given new life as they’re lent to aspiring musicians throughout the community. Every little bit goes a long way in helping spread the love of music, so any donation is much appreciated.

Fidelio Society in Concert at Phillips Academy

The Phillips Academy Music Department will present a spring concert featuring The Fidelio Society, the oldest musical organization on Andover Hill. The program will include a selection of madrigals, sacred, and contemporary music. They will be joined by Tiffany Tien, vibraphone, in the premier also premier a work by Charles Stacy, PA’16, with lyrics by Erika Nork, PA’16, entitled “Bright Filaments, Shimmering.”

STAGE 284 Theater Workshop for Kids

This program will explore performance through exciting themes that will get your kids up and exercising their imaginations. Through creative movement, writing, theater games, props, set and costume, character development and analysis, we will explore the art of drama from the ground up! Starting with Greek Theater and ending with an exploration of Modern Day Musicals, students will get a sense of the work it takes to create a play from start to finish. This hands-on session will culminate in a short performance for family and friends created by your children!

Excelsis Percussion Quartet

The Excelsis Percussion Quartet will perform at Salem State University.

From the four corners of the planet, the love of percussion and performance has brought together Marcelina Suchocka (Poland), Aya Kaminaguchi (Japan), Clara Warnaar (Canada-United States), and Mariana Ramirez (Mexico) as the Excelsis Percussion Quartet. These amazing women, hailing from four different countries and speaking four different languages, blend their talents to speak the universal language of rhythm with innovative perception. EXCELSIS invites the world into a celebration of percussion with its pageantry of marimbas, drums, cymbals, xylophones, and vibraphones.
