Salem Arts Association is proud to present our annual exhibit exploring Salem’s history with Autumn, Halloween, Witchcraft, and the Spirit of the season. The resulting exhibit represents diverse interpretations of the theme and how, by bringing them together, we create a collective understanding of it.
Salem is going to the dogs (and cats and lizards and bunnies), and we couldn’t be happier about it! Salem Main Streets is pleased to announce the return of the annual Howl-o-ween Pet Parade! The pet parade will return to Derby Wharf on Saturday, Oct. 14th at 11 am, with the usual fun, costumes, and contest with prizes.
Join Historic New England for Wicked Wednesdays! Get wicked at Phillips House as part of Haunted Happenings family-friendly events. Ticket includes historic games, fall crafts, and a family- themed tour of the house. Coxstumes Welcome! This is a drop-in event. Tours are offered every half-hour. Last tour departs at 5:00 p.m.
Pet Rock by the Sea is a fun afternoon in one of Salem MA's beautiful historic parks - Winter Island. Enjoy an open air Pavillion with food from local favorites Lulu's Bakery, shop clothing and accessories, meet a local author, learn about local shelters and enjoy music from great local musicians. Plus raffles, prizes and a silent auction - all to benefit a great cause, The Northeast Animal Shelter.
The Salem Zombiewalk has been an annual event for a number of years. This is a great family-friendly event will be held in Downtown Salem, MA. Prior to the Zombiewalk, participants gather at Salem Commons for some field day activities, last-minute costume tweaks and alterations, and of course to admire other lovers of the Zombie theme.
History Alive, Inc. in Salem Massachusetts hosts a 17th Century Pub for kids Fridays in October! This experiential learning environment is perfect for kids and adults to learn about 16th century leisure through music, stories, games and historical treats! Feel free to dress up for this time travel experience. Note: This is a child friendly event and no alcohol will be served in the pub.
Join Mayor Pangallo to trick-or-treat downtown. Participating businesses will be handing out candy to costumed children. Many of Salem’s attractions will offer free admission for Salem residents. Free attractions begin at 3 pm, trick-or-treat with the Mayor at 5:30 pm. Costumes are encouraged. Check salem.com for more information.
Come to Salem Massachusetts to enjoy outdoor shopping on a crisp early fall weekend. Shop for uniquely Salem items at over 100 vendor booths on the Salem Common. Entertainers, street performers and live music performances all add to the festive atmosphere. Wear a costume or come to just feel the anticipation of Halloween in the air! Come stroll through historic Pioneer Village for this 6th annual family-friendly event. You will be enchanted by the soft light of jack-o-lanterns while listening to spooky tales (Flashlights Optional). This Lanterns in the Village fundraiser supports all positive events for the students of Collins Middle School located in Salem. 100% of the proceeds will support our school!
