Hamilton’s American Legion A.P. Gardner Post 194 host the annual parade. Marchers will assemble and step off the parade from Town Hall to the Soldiers Monument, then to Hamilton Cemetery for a short ceremony. The parade continues to Town Hall, the Community House, Patton Park, and ends at the Legion Post with a reading of deceased members/veterans.
At 7:30 AM at Alliance Park, veterans will gather to toss a wreath into the Merrimack River in honor of all fallen Marines and Sailors. From there, wreaths will be placed at the Veteran’s plot in Union Cemetery, then to the Doughboy statue and Justin Memorial, and then the Polish Memorial on Market Street.
Wenham Massachusetts Memorial Day Services commence with and a Decoration of the Cheeseman Memorial in Pingree Park. The Wenham Memorial Day Parade kicks off at the American Legion building.The parade forms at American Legion building (Wenham COA and Buker School) starting at 12:30 p.m. Parade starts at 1 p.m. with stops at the Veterans Memorial Monument, the Civil War Memorial, and the Wenham Town Cemetery on Main Street. The Council on Aging van will be avaiulable to provide transportation between locations for anyone requiring assistance.
Warrior Weekend is a two day event that pays tribute to veterans through demonstrations and other events for the community. There will be all kinds of military hardware on site including tanks and possibly and apache helicopter! Activities will include axe throwing, Rainforest Reptiles, martial arts demonstrations, touch-a-truck, food vendors and more!
The Danvers Memorial Day parade begins at Town Hall at 9 a.m. sharp, and will follow the traditional route of previous years - down Sylvan Street, through downtown and back to Town Hall. Placement of wreaths will be at the Porter Cemetery on High Street, Lane Parkway, and the Memorial Flag Pole in Danvers Square.
Middleton's Memorial Day will take place on the lawn of the Flint Public Library featuring speaker Kevin Welch, USMC and hosted by the Augustus P. Peabody Celebrates Memorial Day by remembering fallen veterans with services, a parade and a ceremony at the Peabody City Hall. The parade begins at the intersection of Washington Street and Allens Lane at 11 a.m.
Halloween is the night when the veil between the world of the living and the world of the dead thins and magicla things happen! Join Christian Day, Brian Cain, Sandra Mariah Wright, and Leanne Marrama with drumming by the Dragon Ritual Drummers as Witches from around the globe gather for the sacred and magical ritual of Halloween! This event is free and open to all who wish to attend with an open heart and a love for their dead. There is also no limit on the number of participants.
Memorial Day in Wenham, Massachusetts is as foillows:
- 11:45am: Decoration Ceremony at the Alan B. Cheeseman Memorial hosted by the American Legion.
- 1:00pm: There will be a 'Salute to Colors' ceremony at the American Legion Headquarters followed by a parade downtown. The parade begins on School Street and follows to Perkins, Bruce, Arbor and Main streets. The parade will stop at the Civil War Monument, then proceed to the cemetery for another ceremony and dedication. Light refreshments will follow.
