Create a family treasure by making your own Russian nested doll, matryoshka, with Russian artist and storyteller, Marina Forbes. While decorating the dolls, families can listen to the folk music from Russia and try the “matryoshka dance”. Adults, teens and children six and up are invited to this workshop on traditional Russian arts and crafts.
Make some valentine cards, a collage, and more as we use art materials to create festive February fun on the half day, February 6, 1 PM! There's a lot going during the Harvest Festival on Middle Street in Gloucester! Come to the Middle Street Harvest Festival for live music, museum tours, the Thanksgiving Cape Ann Farmers Market, a craft fair and chowder luncheon, story time and crafts for the kids, tours of the Gloucester Fire Station and more! A benefit concert will take place to raise funds for the Grace Center at Trinity Congregational Church of Gloucester. The Middle Street Harvest Festival is sponsored by Bank Gloucester and other local businesses.
Mandalas are geometric symbols representing the universe or cosmos, and can be drawn onto many mediums. For this Laughs and Crafts, we will be using acrylic paint and painting our mandalas on smooth stones.
