Celebrating its fifth year anniversary, Brookwood’s 4 to 14 Speaker Series: Parenting Elementary School Kids is pleased to welcome writers of note who will once again speak to parents on issues of parenting, raising healthy children, and navigating the ups and downs of family life. Mark your calendars for our second speaker of the 4 to 14 anniversary season, on February 10, 2016, for an evening with Dr. Jennifer Bryan who will discuss the topics of gender, sexual identity, and helping our kids navigate gender stereotypes. Tickets are $10 and are now on sale.

Manchester Public Library welcomes families to come to the parking lot behind Town Hall to touch, climb inside, and even honk the horns of the real vehicles our Fire Department, Department of Public Works, and Police Departments use in Manchester-by-the-Sea! Plus there will be wheels and fuel (cookies and drinks). Kids of all ages are welcome! No need to register.

Teens are encouraged to volunteer at the Manchester Public Library this Summer

Calling all teens for the 2016 Summer Volunteen Program! If you’re entering 6th to 12th grade, the library would love to have you volunteer this summer to help keep the summer reading program running flawlessly! We ask volunteens to do 15 hours of service over the course of the summer. We're more than happy to schedule service hours around summer commitments, as long as you give us enough of a heads-up! Applications for the 2016 Summer Volunteen Program are at the front desk. Completed applications can be returned to Kate.
