Berlin-based contemporary artist Alicja Kwade (b.1979, Poland) has long been engaged with value systems, philosophical questions about the essence of reality, and with attempting to examine, if not resolve, issues of inherently subjective concepts such as space and time. In her sculptures, as well as installations, photographs, and films, Kwade occupies herself with the structural properties of everyday objects and questioning the veracity of matter, revealing possibilities for alternate realities, while examining social agreements and supposed truths.

Join The Trustees of Reservations as we kayak the winding waters that meander through the marsh between the Ipswich River and Essex Bay. We’ll start our adventure at Steep Hill Beach, then paddle into the Ipswich River to Fox Creek, traveling through the oldest man-made tidewater canal in the United States! As we wend our way through the marsh, we’ll be on the lookout for herons, egrets, and other shore birds -- with luck we’ll spot an osprey hunting for its supper! The Escape from Boston Revolutionary War Reenactment is a weekend encampment and battle scenario that plays out this “what-if” scenario that might have changed the course of the American Revolution. Meet Revolutionary War soldiers from both sides of the conflict. Members of the Continental Line and His Majesty's First Regiment of Foot Guards re-enact a retreat from Boston with cannon, cavalry, and drills throughout the day. Come watch the colonial forces battle with the British Redcoats at the Escape from Boston Revolutionary War Reenactment to determine our destiny as a nation.
