The Escape from Boston Revolutionary War Reenactment is a weekend encampment and battle scenario that plays out this “what-if” scenario that might have changed the course of the American Revolution. Meet Revolutionary War soldiers from both sides of the conflict. Members of the Continental Line and His Majesty's First Regiment of Foot Guards re-enact a retreat from Boston with cannon, cavalry, and drills throughout the day. Come watch the colonial forces battle with the British Redcoats at the Escape from Boston Revolutionary War Reenactment to determine our destiny as a nation.
The Newbury Town Library invites kids to a showing of Illumination's 'The Secret Life of Pets' as the half-day movie for town kids. A Jack Russell Terrier named Max lives with his owner Katie in a Manhattan apartment. While she is at work during the day, he hangs out with other pets in the building: tabby cat Chloe, pug Mel, dachshund Buddy, and budgerigar Sweetpea. One day, Katie adopts Duke, a large and shaggy mongrel from the pound, leaving Max jealous because of her divided attention between him and Duke. Enraged by Max's attitude towards him, Duke tries to abandon Max in an alley, but they are both attacked by a gang of alley cats led by Sphynx cat Ozone. The cats remove both dogs' collars and leave them to be caught by Animal Control. Hilartiy ensues, and we lear a little about the way pets live their lives while we are all attending to other matters.

Join the Interpreter too explore the tide pools at SSandy Point! We will be looking at ddifferent organisms that inhhabit the pools such as crabs, sand dollars, starfish, periwwinkles, and many more! Meet at the first parking lot near thee beach entrance. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Parking at Sandy Pooint is limited. Artist and educator Nancy Forristall is accepting registration for Art Studio for Preschoolers. The Fall 2016 season offers a variety mediums for young artists at the Pine Island studio in Newbury.
The Newbury Town Library will host the [node: 1306] for a Star Gazing Party! They will be giving a short presentation in advance and then attendees may view the stars through large telescopes placed outside. If you have never attended a Star Party, then don't miss out on this. It's incredible how much you can see through a telescope.
Newbury Town Library invites kids for a special performance - BIG RYAN'S TALL TALES! Big Ryan delivers his own original stories, a bit of puppet play and some music and movement, and a whole lot of fun! This show is great for PreK-5th grade, but siblings of other ages are of course welcome. Big Ryan has been a hit at libraries all over the map, and we're so excited to be able to bring him to the Newbury Town Library for you to see. The Newbury Town Library invites teens to their Friday Flicks Series! We're showing movies in the Community Room after school on the 3rd Friday of each month at 2:45pm, just for teens. Popcorn and water will be served. Movies will be rated PG or PG-13. Kids in grades 2-6 are invited to Spencer Peirce Little Farm to learn about textile artisanry! These monthly sessions are for students who are interested in or already working with fiber. Participants learn hand sewing, weaving, felting, knitting, dying wool, and carding/spinning wool from featured guest artists. All crafts and completed projects are taken home. Students also learn how to use a sewing machine.
