Take a nice n' easy stroll at Bradley Palmer State Park with your family! Join the Park Interpreter for an easy hike along the Carriage Road or Accessible Trail. Points of interest will be highlighted. The walk will be fully accessible to strollers and wheelchairs. Best for ages pre-K and up.

Bat Discovery at Maudslay

Learn about bats and the role they play in the ecosystem at Maudlsay State Park in Newburyport with DCR Bat Research Monitor Amanda Melinchuk

Join the park interpreter & DCR Bat Research Monitor Amanda Melinchuk for this two part program, starting with a Power Point presentation concerning the threat to bats, how they benefit the eco system & much more! Then take a short walk in the field to see & hear bat activity and at the site of Maudslay’s newly in stalled bat box.

Pet Cemetery – Moseleys’ Four-footed Friends

Learn the history of the Mosely family pets at Maudlsay State Park in Newburyport

Maudslay State Park actually has a pet cemetery! The Moseley family enjoyed their many pets and established an area of the estate specifically for them.  The park interpreter will lead a walk to this area and share stories and photos of their four-footed friends.  Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring water.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Morning Stroll to the Horse Bridge

Take a morning stroll through the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary!

Join us for an easy midmorning stroll through the cool back woods of the Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary. Our short walk will start among towering groves of white pine, where we will search for toads and salamanders. The trail will lead us to a wildflower-filled field rich with dragonflies and butterflies. A few steps later, we will encounter an old wooden bridge that spans the Ipswich River, where we will stop for a snack and look for ducks, geese, and maybe a snapping turtle!
