This week's program will focus on schooling fish in the North Atlantic Waters off of New England! Our afternoon starts off with self-guided activities, challenges, or puzzles that lead us to our topic for the day. As a group, we'll observe, investigate, and compare wildlife, their adaptations, and the changes that they undergo in autumn. Participants may play the role of entomologist, ornithologist, astronomer, or even glaciologist throughout this series. Each experience will leave your young naturalist eager for the next session.

Pocahontas Comes to Life at Sawyer Free Library with Carole Finn Weidman! Her name was Rebecca, a princess whose short life was so fantastic, so filled with adventure that after 400 years we remain fascinated. Actress Carole Finn of Beverly brings her back to life in a one-woman show for kids in the Friend Room at the Sawyer Free Library.

Spring Birds Art Project

The Spring Bird Art Project will include making art and reading books!

Rockets: There and Back Again

Kids will learn about rocketry and payload return at the Ipswich Library.

In this Museum of Science workshop hosted at the Ipswich Public Library, kids will learn about rocketry and payload science by doing. Attendees will engineer their own air rocket that will be launched across the room and design a payload return system that results in a safe return to Earth. Kids will use their imagination to plan, build, test and implement their designs.

Boston Ballet Children’s Program Visit

Boston Balley School Summer Programs for Children

The Children’s Program will visit the Peabody Institute Library to present a ballet story on April 12 at 10:00am. This year’s ballet is a child-friendly version of Don Quixote. After the story has been read, children in attendance will able to view Boston Ballet costumes, pointe shoes, and tiaras. The event will end with a dance lesson from Boston Ballet School staff to music excerpts from the Don Quixote score. This is a free event that is open to the public.

As a group, we'll observe, investigate, and compare wildlife, their adaptations, and the changes that they undergo in autumn. Participants may play the role of entomologist, ornithologist, astronomer, or even glaciologist throughout this series. Each experience will leave your young naturalist eager for the next session. And we always end with a tasty, thematic treat that the participants make!
