Museum of Fine Arts in Boston Massachusetts Open House free admission event for North Shore and families

The Museum of Fine Arts will honor Memorial Day with an Open House and will waive all admission fees. Visitors can enjoy complimentary admission to the MFA's galleries, family activities and performances. This year, the MFA offers free admission—including access to the special exhibition “Van Gogh: The Roulin Family Portraits”—for Massachusetts residents. Enjoy music, dance, art making, and more!

MFA Open House | Juneteenth

The Museum of fine Arts Boston hosts an open house with free admission for Juneteenth!

In partnership with Citizens, admission to the MFA—including access to “Hokusai: Inspiration and Influence”—is free for all Massachusetts residents on June 19 in honor of Juneteenth, the oldest nationally observed commemoration of the ending of slavery in the US. Join us for performances, participate in art-making activities, catch a talk, and see “Hear Me Now: The Black Potters of Old Edgefield, South Carolina,” a new exhibition honoring the work and legacy of the enslaved men, women, and children who crafted stoneware storage vessels in Old Edgefield for roughly 50 years before emancipation.

Kindness Rocks Garden at MarketStreet Lynnfield

Kindness Rocks Garden Art Exhibit at MarketStreet Lynnfield

MarketStreet Lynnfield welcomes the return of the Kindness Rocks Garden, an installation of painted rocks with inspirational messages that is meant to encourage random acts of kindness and spread positivity. Participants are invited to leave their own painted rocks, as well as take any that inspire them. The project is spearheaded by Lynnfield for Love and the local chapter of the Girl Scouts. MarketStreet Lynnfield is one of eight sites in the North Shore hosting a Kindness Rocks project. The garden is located on the island between Starbucks and Justice at MarketStreet Lynnfield, and will be on display through the end of the year. Gordon College Art Gallery Exhibit: Tim Harney, Paintings and Collages

The Gallery at Gordon College's Barrington Center for the Arts presents its opening exhibit of the 2012-2013 season. Timothy Harney: My Mother's Hands, My Father's Heart: Paintings and Collages, 2000-2012.

Timothy Harney's whimsical and colorful paintings and collages will fascinate children of all ages. The Gallery will exhibit an especially large number of Harney's artworks, spanning more than a decade of this local artist's notable career.

Come to The Gallery on Sat. Sept 1st from 4pm to 6pm for the opening reception and artist lecture.

Children are welcome!

Ruth Mordecai: New Works on Paper

The gallery will host a public reception for the artist on Saturday, August 9, 5–7pm.  The artist will be at Trident Gallery for conversation Saturday, August 2, 5–7pm, and will lead a discussion of her work on Sunday, August 17, 5–6pm.

In celebration of the opening of the new Arts of Korea Gallery and Korean Buddhist Paintings exhibition at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA), the Museum is hosting Korea Foundation Day on Friday, November 16, from 3 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.

Activities include tours of the Arts of Korea Gallery in Korean and English, a talk by artist Kang Ik-Joong, and musical performances by the percussion group Gong Myoung. These programs are free with Museum admission and children 17 and younger are free.
