
The Museum of Fine Arts will honor Memorial Day with an Open House and will waive all admission fees. Visitors can enjoy complimentary admission to the MFA's galleries, family activities and performances. This year, the MFA offers free admission - including access to the special exhibition “Hokusai: Inspiration and Influence” - for Massachusetts residents. Celebrate the holiday with art and community!

Drop-In Art Making: Handmade Paper

Huntington Avenue Lawn (rain location: Education Center in the Druker Family Pavilion, 159)
Celebrate creative reuse, found materials, and biodiversity by making handcrafted paper. Transform paper recycled by staff from across the Museum into new, handmade sheets embedded with native, pollinator-friendly, and pesticide-free wildflower and meadow seeds.
Art Fair with Mission Hill Main Streets

Shapiro Family Courtyard
Mission Hill Main Streets works with local businesses, residents, and institutions in Boston’s Mission Hill neighborhood to revitalize local businesses and strengthen the community. Drop by to meet some of the local artists who partner with the organization, including: Monjuree Yousuf, a figurative oil painter who explores daily life through deep colors inspired by her Bangladeshi roots; Joseph Melanson, a weaver influenced by the SAORI weaving movement; and Kay Mathew, a photographer and member of the Mission Hill Artists Collective, whose black-and-white images uplift the ordinary moments of daily life.

Don’t miss this collaborative work of poetry, composition, and improvised music for saxophone, marimba, and electronics. Composer-performers Maria Finkelmeier and Tim Hall explore their personal journeys, both physical and internal, as they’ve gone through life crafting, owning, and sharing their artistic voice.
