Bartlet Mall
The historic Bartlet Mall, located in Newburyport, Mass., is a beautiful park featuring a large recreational area and ornamental pond. It was first shaped thousands of years ago by ice which broke off a retreating glacier. When the ice finally melted, it left a steep-sided gully that geologists call a kettle hole.
Salem Common
Salem Common began as the town's common pasture land, to which each Salem citizen could bring a cow to graze.
The Common is now Salem's large, pleasant central park, with the Hawthorne Hotel at its southwest corner.
MA Route 1A passes right along the edge of the Common via the streets named Washington Square North and Washington Square West.
Magnolia Woods
Magnolia Woods is a beautiful recreational area built on 25 acres of land. It is home to all of Gloucester’s Soccer programs as it houses seven soccer fields and a small softball field. The park is open to all visitors who can do any of the following activities: bird watch, nature walk, check out the variety of wild flowers growing in the area, and cross country ski in the winter months. Future site imrpvements include additional parking and restroom facilities. This site was previously the location of the Gloucester dump which was cleaned up and capped back in the early 1990's.
Jackson Park
Jackson Park is located directly behind the Swampscott High School.
Gatchell Playground
Gatchell's 8.33 acres has a basketball court, Little League Baseball fields, a Midget Football field, playground equipment, bleachers, benches, restroom facilities and parking. It is located at the intersection of West Shore Drive and Lafayette Street.
