The Phillips Academy Music Department will present a concert of Faculty Jazz Ensembles. This concert, free and open to the public, will take place in the Timken Room at Graves Hall on the Phillips Academy campus, 180 Main Street, Andover. Graves Hall is handicapped accessible. The Cabot: Suzi Shelton and Little Miss Ann

Suzi Shelton is an award-winning NYC singer/songwriter who’s has been making catchy music for more than a decade, performing at the White House and Lincoln Center. Little Miss Ann, a first-generation Filipino-American creates heartfelt songs with unique instrumentation, infectious melodies, and a soulful voice. Join both of them (together again) on one stage for a super fun family show!

The Phillips Academy Jazz Band

The Phillips Academy Music Department presents the Academy Jazz Band. Directed by Peter Cirelli, the Jazz Band is a typical Big Band format performing the repertoire of the Swing era as well as contemporary Latin jazz and jazz/rock infusion.

This concert is free and open to the public and will be held at Cochran Chapel.  For further information, please call the Music Department at (978) 749-4260 or email music@andover.edu.

Cochran Chapel is handicapped accessible.

High School Invitational Jazz Festival

Salem State High School Invitational Jazz Festival

Each year in February, the Salem State music department holds its annual high school invitational jazz festival, taking place in the music department at Central Campus. Area high school jazz bands are invited to Salem State for a day of workshops and an evening performance in the recital hall. Students will have the opportunity to work with instructors who are proficient in jazz studies and techniques. Past participants have included Salem High School, Ipswich High School, Masconomet High School, Lynn Classical, and others.

Antique & Classic Car Show

Come see classic and antique cars at Smolak Farms!

Smolak Farms is hosting a classic and Antique Car Show right on the Farm!  Classic and Antique Cars will be on display, plus there will be lots of fun family activities that include hayrides, pick your own fruit, live music, baked goods, FREE arts and craft activities for kids, an animal area, a playground, bouncy houses and duck races!

Try pizza form local area places and raise funds for local orgs at the pizza fes

Come to the Pizza Fest in Ipswich to sample pizza from local restaurants and raise funds that will be distributed to local students through scholarship programs. This fund raiser event will feature all-you-can-eat pizza, a raffle, local vendors, a bouncy house for the kids, face painting, a DJ, dancing and family fun for all.  Come help COME SUPPORT THE IPSWICH LIONS raise money for scholarships and many other community needs, and have some fun while doing it!

Rockport Music invites you to a FREE concert at their Shalin Liu Performance Center! The Bohemian Quartet was formed in 2005 by violinist and conductor Stan Renard with the idea of preserving the tradition, and indulging in the virtuosic playing style, of Romany, or “Gypsy” music, along with related Eastern European folk styles. Together they have made a commitment to the genre, and continuously aspire to perform it with both reverence and adventure. The group has a passion for the deep-rooted authenticity of the Romany tradition, as well as the ability to play this historic repertoire with extraordinary joie de vivre.

Chess Instruction at Abbot Library

Kids can play clocked chess matches against each other each Wednesday at the Abbot Public Library in Marblehead Massachusetts
