Join the Firehouse Center for the Arts in their support of our amazing local youth and their incredible talent featuring the incredible young talent of Ipswich High School Honors Chamber Orchestra, and opening up with pianist Rachel Ameen.
The Ipswich High School Honors Chamber Orchestra is a highly advanced group of dedicated musicians, ranging in ages from 13 to 18. The orchestra has participated and won multiple competitions, including a gold medal at the Massachusetts Instrumental and Choral Conductors Association (MICCA) Festival in 2015 and 2016 for which they were invited to perform at Boston Symphony Hall. This year the Chamber Orchestra was invited to audition for the Festivals at Carnegie Hall competition, and thus will have the opportunity to perform at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Rachel Ameen has been a resident of Newburyport her entire life. She started taking piano lessons at age 7 with Constance Salerno, and continues playing to this day. She has been an active member of Theater in Open, both as an actor and a workshop counselor, for most of her life, playing demons and princesses, and everything in between. In 2014, she assisted in starting Learning Outpost, a small local school. She attended Learning Outpost until her graduation in 2016. Rachel is currently a freshman at Syracuse University.
