Sawyer Free Library invites kids to Spend Saturday morning at the Library with Miss Marisa! We explore fun facts and science topics every other week through sensory play, stories, music and movement. It's a morning of Family Fun that is great for all ages!
This is the 18th year of Reid's Ride 28-Mile Bike Ride. In 2022 we'll resume our traditional event as a group bike ride from Lynnfield High School to our finish line activities at Stage Fort Park Gloucester for music, refreshments, awards, raffles and booths.
The Open Door invites you to bowl painting session! Bring the kids to come paint bowls for the annual Open Door Empty Bowl Circus in May where painted bowls will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. This free session is an opportunity to express yourself artistically while helping The Open Door raise funds to aid North Shore families and individuals in need.

Join Cape Ann Trail Stewards for a 5 mile trail race through Dogtown. All participants will earn a one year membership to Cape Ann Trail Stewards, and all profits from this race will go back to trails on Cape Ann.This race will cross landscapes that are unique to Cape Ann only, providing runners with a technical, exciting course guaranteed to challenge even the most nimble runners.

Come to the Gloucester High School Field House as the Boston Red Sox Trophy Tour stops on Cape Ann! This event is open to the public and it gives peopel a chance to see the World Series trophy up close, and a chance to have their photo taken with the 2013 Championship trophy!
Each week Maritime Gloucester offers kids a different hands-on marine-themed program that integrates marine engineering, biology and maritime history. For kids ages 6-12 with an adult!

Daisy Nell and Captain Stan visit the library to introduce Daisy’s new book [amazon 978-0615455075 inline] and lead a sing-along. Daisy Nell, native of Essex, MA, brings alive New England’s maritime history through traditional songs of the sea. A familiar voice on the North Shore music scene, she is known for her broad repertoire of traditional folk, chanteys, and contemporary songs. Her husband, Capt. Stan, adds his guitar and dobro to Daisy's banjo and guitar.
