Join Mass Audubon's Joppa Flats Education Center on a 'Beach Creature' cruise aboard Newburyport Harbor Tours Inc.'s Yankee Clipper through the Merrimack River Estuary! Teacher Naturalist, Lisa Hutchings will provide her expert pair of eyes to help your family find all the exciting sights and sounds of the marshes and varied habitats of Plum Island as you cruise along the Merrimack River.  This cruise will focus on the creature of the beach haibtat!

Hands-on Science with Dad Cruise

This Father's Day Ecology Cruise aboard the Yankee Clipper with naturalists from the Mass Audubon Joppa Flats Education Center Newburyport

Join Lisa Hutchings and the crew of the Yankee Clipper for an exciting exploration of the lower Merrimack River ecosystem. Each month will feature a specific theme with hands-on science, interactive props, and seasonal wildlife. We'll also look for seabirds, seals, and waterfowl on every trip. Your family will have a wonderful time cruising and learning about this vital part of the area's natural history.

The Yankee Clipper is US Coast Guard inspected and licensed and has life jackets and a marine toilet for your convenience.

All children must be accompanied by adults. The deadline for preregistering for this program is 4:00 pm on the day before the program. We will run this program in all weather except thunderstorms or small craft advisories.

Lynx - America's Privateer comes to Newburyport

The celebrated War of 1812 Tall Ship LYNX “America’s Privateer” comes to Newburyport for the first time! Lowell’s Boat Shop is pleased to partner with the Lynx Educational Foundation operators of the Tall Ship Lynx for her first time ever visit to the city of Newburyport, MA from June 2-6.  It is our high honor to bring this national treasure Lynx to the birth place of the United States Coast Guard, Newburyport.

Essex River Paddle

Take a paddle on the Essex River with the ECGA!

Join Greenbelt for a monthly "experience" on the water. Bring your own kayak or canoe, or use a Greenbelt loaner.  We'll depart from Greenbelt's Cox Reservation Headquarters and paddle the Essex River. Please RSVP and let us know if you need a loaner and life jackets. Dress for the weather. Hat, sunscreen, bug spray, camera and binolculars recommended. NOTE: as of August 21, 2013 this event no longer has loaner kayak or canoes available!

Schooner Ardelle will be launched at Maritime Gloucester on April 27 at 12:30!

Maritime Gloucester invites boating enthusiasts of all ages to the Spring launching of the Schooner Ardelle! Harold Burnham and his volunteer crew have been getting his beautiful Pinky Schooner Ardelle ready for another exciting season sailing form Maritime Gloucester and she's ready to launch! The launching will take place at the Maritime Gloucester Marine Railway, the oldest continuously operating marine railway in the United States.

In addition to tours of the Bounty there will be entertainment at waterfront park for everyone visiting the Bounty and Newburyport.
