Kick off the new Year at Mahaney's Uechi Ryu Karate Academy!

This time of year is great for reviewing the past year and planning for the next.  People will be making resolutions to improve something about themselves whether it be in mind, body or spirit, and Gloucester Uechi Karate Academy is offering an opportunity that will cover all three! Now through January 31, 2012, anybody is welcome to download their 'Holiday Pass', that includes two private lessons, two weeks of group classes and a free 'gi' (a karate training uniform).

Kids can explore the wonders of Ice at this Imagine, Sing & Learn at Joppa Flats

This parent/child program is designed for the creative, curious, and active preschooler. Each 90-minute session offers a structured series of activities including original songs, movement, dramatic play, hands-on science, and a thematic snack. You'll receive coloring pages, song lyrics, vocabulary, a fun fact sheet, and a suggested reading list via email.  In these sessions we'll explore the wonders of ice!

Wildlife, local and migrating birds, collecting techniques, and environmental awareness will be presented in a fun, energetic format that adults and children alike will enjoy.

All children have an innate musical ability that needs a little nurturing to become a fun and educational source of entertainment.  The Kiwi Girl has developed an active approach to teaching music through singing, movement and instrument playing.
