CMNH Science Classes

Science classes are offered to preschoolers and homeschoolers at CMNH!

The Children's Museum of New Hampshire is now taking registrations for new preschool and homeschool science classes that begin on March 7, 2013. Each 6-week session includes hands-on experiments, lessons and creative projects under the instruction of a museum educator, and classes are separated into pre-school grouping and homeschooled children ages 5½-9.

The Junior Science Explorers Class is for children ages 3-1/2 to 5 years old and will meet on Thursdays, March 7 – April 11 at 10 am. Budding scientists will be introduced to a variety of science topics with themed activities and experiments during each 45-minute class. The cost is $60 for museum members and $70 for non-members, and the price includes all materials.

Science Explorers for Homeschoolers has been created for children ages 5½ – 9 years old and will meet on Thursdays, March 7 – April 11 at 11:30 am. The theme for this first session is “Making Things Move With Physics.” Students will learn what a force is using hands-on explorations with gravity, friction, and air resistance. The class will explore ways to change the effect of a force has on people and objects on earth, design things that move using forces, and experiment with changing how things move. The cost for this 6-week class is $60 for members and $70 for non-members. Additional siblings in a family pay just $36 each to participate.

To register for any of the science classes at the Children’s Museum of NH, please call 603-742-2002. Each class is limited to just 12 students for personalized instruction. More information can be found at www.childrens-museum.org.
