Healthy Heart Trails of North East Massachusetts

Healthy Heart Trails of the North Shore of Mass for children and families

Last spring, the DCR launched the Healthy Heart Trails initiative to promote better health. This initiative challenges Massachusetts residents to walk 75 miles before Labor Day - about a mile a day. The hope was that Massachusetts residents would make walking these trails part of their regular exercise routine.

Healthy Heart trails are identified by a green heart symbol, measure approximately 1.5 miles or less in length and are easy to moderate in activity level. The program offers a great way to have fun and get exercise with minimal expense.

Visit the Department of Conservation and Recreation website to download a walking log to track your progress.
