The Museum of Printing’s Annual Printing Arts Fair is a fun day for kids and families! Families will have a great time with printing, typing, a treasure hunt, demonstrations, shopping, tours, and a raffle!
You can leave us a note, a joke, or a haiku on one of our working typewriters. Enter our raffle to win a complete Kelsey 5×8 printing kit (the restored press plus a kit with all you need to start printing!). Get inky and print keepsakes in our Letterpress Studio and the Alphabet Factory. Visit our galleries and exhibits. And shop! We’ll have vendors offering art, books, ephemera, vintage letterpress supplies & tools, new letterpress foundry type, paper goods, stationery, and so much more!
Our Linotype will be running live from 10 am to 1 pm thanks to Michael Babcock of Interrobang Letterpress. Carolyn Muskat of Muskat Studios and her crew will demonstrate stone lithography printing. Museum of Printing volunteers will be pulling prints of Beatrice Warde’s “This is a Printing Office” on our Adams iron hand press. And a special treat –The Boston Printmakers will showcase their Traveling Flat File of member prints.
Many thanks to dedicated MoP volunteer Craig Busteed of Green Turtle Press, APA #969, who designed and printed this excellent poster! (Note: APA stands for the Amalgamated Printers’ Association of which Craig is a member. See https://apa-letterpress.com/ for more on the APA.)
The Fair is supported in part by grants from the Andover, Boxford, Georgetown, Groveland, Haverhill, Merrimac, Topsfield, and West Newbury Cultural Councils, local agencies which are supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
