Join the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce on July 9th & 10th for the return of Amesbury’s Downtown Fairies, Gnomes & Mystic Homes contest! Get a delicious bite to eat or a sweet treat at one of our restaurants or bakeries, visit some of the fantastic businesses in downtown Amesbury over the weekend. While you are here, try and find all the pop-up fairy houses.
This is a fun, no-pressure competition to encourage fairy house building. It is a wonderful summertime activity to do with kids. Explore the local trails or even your own back yard for supplies.
Important Dates:
- If you would like to participate in our fairy house contest, please make sure to fill out and turn in a participation application form by July 7th, 2022.
- You may turn in your application form at The Amesbury Chamber of Commerce or email it. There are also hard copies of the application available at the Amesbury Chamber.
- Set up for the contest is July 7th and 8th. Simply stop by the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce before to pick up your ‘building permit,” to know where to place your fairy house.
- July 9th and 10th is the time to show off your creation and see what others have made by walking around downtown.
Location:
The fairy houses will be located all around Downtown Amesbury. A map will be available online.
Awards:
- Prizes will be awarded to the favorite fairy houses via a ballot which will be available at stores around town, including Coco, Early & Associates Amesbury and 18 Friend Street.
- Ballots need to be turned into the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce by 10 AM on Monday, July 11th to be counted.
- Categories will include, Most Creative, Best All Around & All Natural (all materials were found in nature, with the exception of glue).
- We will also post photos of all our wonderful houses to the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce Facebook, and prizes will be given to the most loved via likes.
- Voting will be live until noon on Monday, July 11th.
