On Wednesday, May 7, from 8:45 to 10:30, families of students entering Nursery and Kindergarten are invited to Cape Ann Waldorf School to learn more about Waldorf education.  Parents and children can speak with teachers, parents and students, and experience for themselves some of the activities that enliven a Waldorf classroom.

How many times have you heard someone say, "I'm not a math person"? At Cape Ann Waldorf School, everyone is a math person. In our early childhood classrooms, students develop the foundation for math with rhythmic activity, movement, games, real work, and lots of play. From early childhood across the grades, the Cape Ann Waldorf School math curriculum unfolds in a meaningful and coordinated way. Students explore and practice math in ways that fully engage them, through movement, artistic work, music, and practical activities. This multi-sensory, experiential approach leads to stronger understanding, better recall and eager anticipation for taking on their next challenge.

SummerScape is one of the largest and oldest summer camp fairs in New England, and the GUS Parents’ Association has been the host for the past 26 years. It will be held again this year at Glen Urquhart School in Beverly Farms. SummerScape features representatives from over 50 day and residential summer programs for youth and teens throughout New England.

Mark Cutler will perform at Glen Urquhart School on Saturday, January 25 at 7:00 PM. A recording artist and singer songwriter from Providence Rhode Island. He has been the lead singer and songwriter for The Schemers, The Raindogs and The Dino Club. Cutler is the Providence Phoenix Male Vocalist of 2010, the LA Times Orange County Album of the Year (Gas Boy) and as front man for the Raindogs, a Boston Music Awards winner.
