Kids on the North Shore have little or no access to creative arts programming, especially kids from low-income families. The Salem YMCA Creative Arts Center will give all kids access to arts programs: drama, music, pottery, literary writing, photography, graphic arts, and more. A historic (1901) restoration of the Salem YMCA's Ames Hall will give kids and teens a chance to sing, dance, act and recite!
Goals:
- To introduce a variety of creative & performing arts to our community.
- To offer afterschool arts opportunities to all children, youth, teens.
- To be a first-class performing arts center for our community.
- To offer hands-on arts classes, from pottery to drawing to photography
- To restore a theater to original, historic splendor and beauty.
This project will help us restore Ames Hall, give all kids access to arts, and enhance arts culture in Salem, MA!
