Squam Hill Sewing and Design. Sewing Lessons for Kids.
2018 Kids’ Summer Sewing Workshops
The class will start with the basics of hand sewing and machine sewing and then each child can move ahead at their own pace. I’ll have them start by making a pillow or a simple bag that they embellish with beads and ribbon and then we’ll continue on with a project of their own choice. Clothing, accessories or stuffed toys are possible projects. If you have a sewing machine your child can use, they can bring that and I can help them learn how to safely operate it, or if you don’t, no worries, I have machines that they can use during class.
An overriding theme through all the classes will be exploring how we can re-use and re-purpose clothing materials to create wearable art and fashion.
Class will meet in my sunny sewing studio here in Rockport and I would like to keep the classes small, 4-5 students max so they can get lots of individual attention and learn a lot in each class.
