Radio 92.9 EarthFest Kid's Planet

Radio 92.9 Earth Fest in Boston on May 21 has a special lineup and stage just for kids!

Designed specifically for families, Kids’ Planet will feature a musical line-up specifically aimed at children under age 12 as well as earth-friendly activities and educational displays. Kids Planet is Winner of the 2010 Nickelodeon ParentsConnect award for best party entertainer, Boston-area musician Stacey Peasley will bring her catch tunes and fun lyrics to Kids’ Planet.  She’ll be joined by Vanessa Trien and the Jumping Monkeys who will make a return visit to Radio 92.9 EarthFest with their highly interactive, sing-jump-and-dance-along show.  The line-up will also include a host of talented kids performing for kids, as the ZUMIX African Drumming group and Scottish Fish, a Boston-based fiddle and cello quintet perform from the stage.

Performances:

Activities in Kids’ Planet will begin with family-friendly yoga and exercises on the stage from Tabata Kids. Entertaining the crowd throughout the day will be costumed characters Sid the Sloth and Scrat the Squirrel from the upcoming movie Ice Age: Collision Course, a 3D Computer animated family adventure film produced by Blue Sky Studios.

Kids Cooking Green will offer interactive activities designed to introduce children to the importance of eating locally grown food and help children make their own granola; Dirty Boys Composting will teach children about setting up a compost bin and what materials can and cannot be composted; Lexington Community Farm will bring its traveling worm bins to show how worms can help the earth and enrich the soil; and Tabata Kids will engage children and their families in a fun movement challenge.

Whole Foods Market will also bring nearly two dozen partners who will be sampling earth-friendly products along with organizations Pine Street Inn and Food For Free who will be offering demonstrations and other interactive activities.”
