NMYO Symphonic Summer Sessions

Looking for a summer music session for your musician? Registration is now open for NMYO's 4th annual Symphonic Summer Sessions from July 29 to August 2, 2024! Kids will enjoy polishing their craft at the NMYO Summer Session indoors and outdoors in a wooded setting.

Non-NMYO Musicians are Welcome. No Audition Required
All Levels - Strings | Winds | Brass | Percussion

Chamber Music, Lots of Popsicle Breaks, Flute & Oboe Ensemble, Jazz, Pops, Fiddling, Sound Painting, Symphonic Works, and More!

PRELUDE/OVERTURE STRINGS | $275

• 12:30-2:30pm
• Musicians will play in a string ensemble and also divide into small groups according to ability level
• Fiddling workshops included
• We will play both indoors & outdoors in a wooded setting
• Musicians should have at least one year of private or group lessons with a musicianship level equivalent at the end of Suzuki Book 1 through Book 3 and the ability to read music

WINDS/BRASS/PERCUSSION/FLUTES | $325

• 9:00-11:30am
• Musicians will play in small ensembles and a large wind ensemble
• Lots of musical genres will be explored including Pops, Jazz, Traditional Band, Woodwind & Brass quintets
• We will play indoors & outdoors in a wooded setting
• Musicians should have at least two years experience playing at school and/or with a private teacher and the ability to read music

INTERMEZZO & SYMPHONY STRINGS | $375

• 2:00-5:00pm
• Musicians will play in both chamber music ensembles and a large string ensemble
• Fiddling Workshops included
• We will play both indoors & outdoors in a wooded setting
• Musicians should have several years of private lessons with a musicianship level equivalent to at least the beginning of Suzuki Book 4 and up
