No-bake desserts are the greatest alternative for kids to make without turning on the oven and the folks at Sawyer Free Library are going to show kids how to whip up easy, no-sweat sweets.

Here's one to try at home that requires a bit of stove top heating.
Chocolate Cookies
Makes about 2 dozen medium-sized cookies.
2½-3 cups old-fashioned oats
½ cup peanut butter
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups sugar
½ cup milk
1/3 cup butter or margarine
4 tablespoons cocoa
In a large bowl, combine oats, peanut butter and vanilla. Set aside.
Combine next 4 ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil and boil for 1½ minutes. Take off heat. Add hot mixture to contents of bowl and mix.
Drop by heaping teaspoons onto a wax paper-lined baking sheet. Cool until firm.
