Vacation week free fun for families! Cape Ann Symphony, along with the Sawyer Free Library, presents Katy and the Big Snow. Enjoy the beloved story by Gloucester's own Virginia Lee Burton read aloud by local actress Heidi Dallin, and set to music for this ensemble performance. Musicians will also introduce children to the various instruments in a mini show and tell. This special show for children and families will be held at Trinity Church, 70 Middle Street. Open to all, no registration needed. Approximate 40 minute program.

Project STEP is a national award-winning music program that offers the very best classical music education for young students in Boston and surrounding areas. Not only does Project STEP’s programs harbor a creative and safe learning environment, they advocate for a future where the classical music profession reflects the racial and ethnic diversities of our surrounding communities. Project STEP amplifies the stories and voices of young musicians of color, providing space within the greater Boston community for their talent to be recognized. Project STEP students inspire us all to be better and to do more, and your support is the catalyst for their success.
Enjoy an incredible performance of young jazz musicians (alongside a professional ensemble), led by saxophonist and Cape Ann Jazz Workshop director Alexa Tarantino. This showcase features student musicians from the previous summer workshops highlighting their impressive jazz skills. This concert is part of jazz outreach activities that Alexa hosts each winter, where she brings the excitement of the jazz workshop into classrooms on the North Shore and beyond.
Families of all ages are invited to join acclaimed storyteller & musician, John Porcino, for a mix of stories and songs from around the world that come to life with warmth, humor, and audience participation. Includes a 40-instrument "Musical Instrument Petting Zoo" that will enthrall and entertain!
You can literally ring in the holidays with Rockport Music at the Shalin Liu Performance Center! Get in the holiday spirit with the Back Bay Ringers! Back Bay Ringers (BBR) is an advanced, auditioned, handbell ensemble. Under the direction of Griff Gall, BBR has quickly developed a reputation for excellence, regularly performing at Boston-area landmarks such as Faneuil Hall, Symphony Hall, the Boston Children’s Museum, and the Prudential Center.
The Musary brings Charlie Brown's Christmas to The Community House! The Aidan Scrimgeour Trio brings a live performance of Vince Guaraldi's holiday masterpiece to The Community House. Join us for a FREE concert benefitting The Musary (donations encouraged). The Musary is a Musical Instrument lending library that provides access to instruments to anyone in need... No Strings Attached! This event follows the Breakfast with Santa.
Chorus North Shore conducted by Abigail Frost presents A Vibrant Christmas with Presto! Festival Orchestra featuring Daniel Pinkham's Christmas Cantata and John Rutter's Gloria, as well as number of Holiday Carols. Founded in 1932, Chorus North Shore is a 100 voice powerhouse of music singing choral masterworks.
The Topsfield Fair is a perennial favorite for us. We're not the biggest fans of the midway, although it is always worth a walkthrough and a ride or two. We love fruits and vegetables, and are always on the lookout for the winning 'biggest pumpkin'. Another favorite is checking out the pigs and other farm animals, as well as the interesting variety of guinea pigs and rabbits.

We invite you to experience the beauty and friendliness of Gloucester through a day long festival showcasing music, arts and culture.To honor Cape Ann’s first responders, frontline medical personnel and emergency workers, this year’s Gloucester Harvest Music Festival will be free with donations requested. All proceeds will be donated to those whose dedication and sacrifice has kept us safe. Great music. Local Food & Drink. Fun for everyone!
